Kurdish American Committee for Democracy in Syria
The Turkish government is committing crimes by
attacking unarmed Kurdish civilians.
The Kurdish American Committee for Democracy in
Syria is closely following the news of the violent
acts that have caused tens of civilian casualties
and spread fear throughout in the region. Our
Committee expresses concern about the ongoing
pattern of action being taken against unarmed
Kurdish civilians.
The Kurdish American Committee for Democracy in
Syria condemns all forms of violence regardless of
the source. It also asserts that loss of human blood
from both sides is tragic and holds the Turkish
regime responsible for every drop of blood shed.
At the same time, we insist that the Kurdish people
have the natural right to live with dignity in their
historical homeland and be treated as equal to those
of Turkish ethnicity. Is it not impossible for
Turkey to enter the European Union while stepping on
the bodies of Kurdish civilians, knowing that the
European Union calls for peaceful lives for all of
the people of the region?
Meanwhile, the silence and emanating from local
human rights groups, especially Arab, Turkish, and
Persian groups with a presence in Kurdish areas,
adds to the international lack of response to
numerous daily violations of the rights of Kurdish
men, women and children.
We call upon all the human rights groups to loudly
protest these violations and do their duty to defend
human beings whoever they are and without prejudice.
The Kurdish American Committee for Democracy in
Syria demands that these atrocities stop immediately
and we call for peaceful dialog to find a just and
complete solution. We also call for the
international human rights activists, the United
States, and the European Union to pressure the
Turkish government to stop these violations.
