I wish to express my
admiration and support for Asos Hardi of Hawlati for
the views he has expressed recently in London.
These are the real heroes of Kurdistan, not Apo,
Jalal and Massoud for whom life is now very easy. Mr
Hardi has nothing to gain financially from resigning
his post but it is very clear that he loves his
country and he loves his people.
Like Asos, I have worked for Kurdish people for the
last six years for no financial reward and, frankly,
it feels good because I do not feel "dirty", unlike
people who have served the parties. I hope Asos will
return to journalism within Kurdistan because he is
a valuable individual for the Kurdish people but I
understand why he has walked out now. He is right.
Kurdistan needs such people as Asos, he asks
questions, he is honest, he is the real deal. His
approach is what I first saw in the Kurdish people
that made me fall in love with the Kurdish people. I
am sure he will give you Kurdish welcome and
hospitality but, if you prove to be a liar, he will
question you and find out the truth, Kurdish people
are not fools. That is the definition of a bloody
good journalist. Barzani and Talabani do not like
good journalists...
Your people deserve the best, they have got rubbish
at the moment, let's change that.
