ANKARA, Feb 28
(KUNA) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Abdallah Gul
denied Tuesday news reports on his country's intent
to officially recognize a government in the
Kurdistan province.
The Anotaolia News Agency quoted Gul as saying, in a
statement that coincided with visit of Iraqi Prime
Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari here, that the special
Turkish representative in Turkey has never talked to
head of the Democratic Kurdish Party and "President
of Kurdistan regional government Massoud Barzani" on
that issue.
He said these rumors are utterly baseless and
exaggerated, but he added that foreign policy needs
flexibility.
He said the Iraqi people only have the full right to
decide on their country's future.
Earlier Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Nameq Tan
denied the same reports. (pick up previous) tb.
