Turkey’s energy outlook will change
allergy towards to Kurdistan

According to the Turkish
columnist Cengiz Candar a Turkey hostile to
sensitive concepts like "Kurdistan" or allergic to
notions such as Kurdish rights could become a relic
of a past marked by the conjectural realities of the
21th century.
This will be because of Kurdistan’s oil resources
Turkey needs due to energy shortages.
Cengiz Candar still thinks that the future of the
region, including Turkish-Kurdish relations, is
uncertain. But according to him there is a positive
tone in that uncertainty.
According to him the uncertain future of the region
heralds much more hope than previously in regards to
Turkish-Kurdish relations thanks to the overlapping
interests of the Turks and Kurds. |

I hope Cengiz Candar’s conclusions come true. I
think most Kurds will stay sceptic towards Turkey,
because of Turkey’s oppressive history towards the
Kurds.
South-Kurdistan proves again to be an important
factor in the developments of the future of the
Kurds. I hope money and oil will become more
important for Turkey, then a Turkish nationalistic
policy. Already a lot of Turkish companies (and
Kurdish companies from Turkish Kurdistan) are
investing in South-Kurdistan (Northern Iraq).
Cengiz Candar's column proves again that not every
Turk is hostile towards the Kurds, despite that some
Kurdish nationalists claim this.
