Five Agricultural
Planes Arrive in Sulaimaniyah
(Kurdistani Nwe)
The ministry of agriculture in the Kurdistan region
has purchased five agriculture planes for 930,000
dollars. Tahsin Namiq, deputy minister for
agriculture, said the planes arrived in Sulaiminayh.
A German company, which the government had an
agreement with, brought the planes, he said. He also
said that in addition to helping agriculture, the
planes can help put out fires. The deputy confirmed
that they have built an airport for agricultural
affairs near Sulaimaniyah and trained pilots.

Oil Products (Prices) Stable
(Al-Sabah)
Acting oil minister Hashim al-Hashimi denied that
(the government) would increase oil prices and said
prices would stay as they are. Satellite channels
and news agencies earlier reported that Iraq would
gradually raise the prices of oil products up to ten
times of their current levels. They estimated that
by the end of 2006, a litre of fuel would cost 1,500
Iraqi dinars. (The current government price for a
litre of fuel is 150 dinars per litre.) Hashimi has
opposed raising oil prices since assuming
responsibility for the ministry.

Angry Demonstrations in Samarra
(Al-Mashriq)
Hundreds of angry Iraqis demonstrated on February 7
in front of Samarra's provincial council to protest
the notorious cartoons humiliating Prophet Muhammed
(peace be upon him.) They burnt the Danish and
Norwegian flags. Council member sheikh Jasim Mumtaz
asked the southern provinces to remove the Danish
troops because their nation connected Islam with
terrorism. The head of the Islamic party in Samarra,
sheikh Jamal al-Kilani, said every true Muslim
should denounce the cartoons which abused Prophet
Mohammed.

the Iraqi National Dialogue Front, Saleh al-Mutlak.

form national unity with different Iraqi political
bodies regardless of their religious, ethnic or
