Strong explosion rocks the Kurdish city of Kirkuk 24.2.2006

 



Kirkuk, Kurdistan-Iraq, (Feb 24) , – A strong blast rocked (Iraqi northern) Kurdish town of Kirkuk on Friday. Cause of the explosion was not known so far.

"The explosion happened west of the city and preliminary reports indicate it was on Kirkuk-Kiwan road,"

No further details were immediately available. The blast was heard throughout Kirkuk

The oil rich Kurdish city of Kirkuk is still not under full control of Kurdistan Regional Government.
