Kurdistan-Iran Feb 19, - At least 700 arrested in
the course of clashes between Kurdish demonstrators
and government forces in Iranian Kurdistan and West
Azerbaijan, Kurdistan-media News Agency reported. 13
demonstrators were killed and 25 injured during the
confrontation between the demonstrators and the
Iranian forces, the agency said. Iranian Kurds
staged several rallies in various towns and cities
in the north-western regions of Iran on Thursday and
Friday, the report said.
There were street clashes between protesters and the
military forces in the towns of Maku, Bazargan, and
Sardasht, the report added. In another incident,
three political prisoners were killed in Orumiyeh
detention centers.
The men were detained last year during clashes
between security forces and the followers of Ahli –
Hagh in the city of Miandoaw east of Iran.
The three were sentenced to death penalty by
revolutionary court of Islamic republic of Iran.
Kurdistan Human rights Organization said that the
detainees were removed from the jail to unknown
place where their execution sentence was possibly
fulfilled.
