IRAN, Kurdistan,
The Iranian press and News outlets generally have
ignored the events. But the deputy of the city Kela
Makę 's (Makoo) in the Iranian parliament in an
interview with pro-government Fars News agency
showed the official position towards the dreadful
events that happened in East-Kurdistan. Nine people
were shot to death and hundreds were arrested by the
Iranian military and police.
The official state agency Fars News reported that
the deputy of Mako said about the events of
Wednesday 15 February Fars News the following: “The
armed gangs supporting Abdullah Ocalan clashed with
the people in one of the villages of the area.
Soleyman Jafarzadeh in an interview with the
parliamentary reporter of Fars News agency said
about 200 persons of opponents of Turkish government
who were supporting Abdullah Ocalan Wednesday wanted
to create unrest in one of the villages of the town
of Bazergan, a town near the border.
He said this group who were armed were shouting
slogans against the Turkish government and in
support of Abdullah Ocalan the leader of “separatist
Kurds” of Turkey and then, they clashed with the
local people.
He added before the intervention of security forces,
the people themselves took the initiative and
prevented their incitement, but unfortunately as a
result of the shooting by these armed thugs, two of
our compatriots lost their lives.
Jafarzadeh, a member of the National Security and
Foreign policy commission of the Iranian parliament
made it clear that a number of these “armed thugs”
were arrested. But he said there is no information
available concerning the number of people who have
been arrested, and right now the authorities are
continuing with their investigations and are
questioning the arrested people.
Jafarzadeh added the chieftains of Kurds and the
tribes of the area have condemned this operation of
armed thugs. He pointed out the tribal and Kurdish
people of the area are a symbol of the security and
are good protectors of Iran Islamic republic's
border, they have prevented any intimidation and
intervention upon Islamic homeland with their
courage and steadfastness. Jafarzadeh says such
events have no precedent in the towns of Bazaergan
and Mako.
He said right now the area is calm, and there is no
special problem, people are running their daily and
normal life"
In the meanwhile, the Kurdish human rights movement
in Eastern Kurdistan rejected this allegation of
Jafarzadeh. Just like with the case of Shwan Qadiri,
who was shot death by Iranian security forces Last
Summer, because of his independent Kurdish political
activities, the massacre was covered with lies and
propaganda.
Shwan Qadiri was described as a thug, and seventy
people demonstrating afterwards against the Regime
were shot death, hundreds arrested and hundreds
wounded. Also the Kurds who demonstrated for the PKK
were described as thugs.
The Kurdistan Human Rights Organisation has
published the names of the seven citizens who were
shot to death by Iranian security forces on
Wednesday. Two others died because of their wounds.
They are : 1- Ali Karimzadeh ( Son of Omar),
2- Muhemed ( Son of Mizo), 3- Behram…, 4- Burhan (
Son of Hassan , domiciled in the village of Shatri
around Kela Makę), -5-Adil Makoyi ( domiciled in the
village of Jangeh), 6- Bayram Arsen, 7- Yousef
Kafashî ( son of Ismayil). The Kurdish organisation
futherly states that at least 25 other people were
wounded.
The Party PJAK (Parti Jiyani Azadi Kurdistan), which
is a sister party of the PKK released a statement on
18 February. According to this statement at least
nine people in Makoo, Poldesht, Shout and Bazergan
have been killed by Security forces and an unknown
number of protesters have been arrested.
On the 8th anniversary the arrest of the PKK leader
of Abdullah Ocalan was remembered by hundreds of
Kurds in several towns and cities of Eastern
Kurdistan.
The Iranian government, that currently tries to
focus on Abu Graibh, Mohammed cartoons and tries to
stir up anti-American sentiment, is responsible of
the death of thousands of Kurds. Not only PKK
supporters are in trouble, but all Kurdish parties,
that are not supporting the Iranian regime.
Despite that the Iranian regime claims to be The
example of Islam, the regime is the Sunni Kurds, the
Sunni Arabs in Khuzestan and more minorities.
Recently someone asked me to interview a Kurd from
Eastern-Kurdistan. His whole family, brothers and
sisters were executed by the Iranian regime. The
non-Islamic regime is showing the worst image of
Islam, one could imagine.
