ERBIL,
Kurdistan-Iraq. Feb 22 (KUNA) -- The National
Council of Iraq's Kurdistan approved on Wednesday to
name the leader in the Kurdistan Democratic Party
Nechirvan Barazani as Chief of the region's united
government.
The Council also named Jalal Talabani Omar Fattah as
deputy, a step seen as a practical move towards the
unification of the two administrations of Kurdistan
Iraq.
The Council postponed the discussion of an
anti-terrorism law.
This came during an extraordinary meeting of the
parliament during which MPs asked President of the
Kurdistan region Masoud Barazani to ask the two men
to form the government within four months.
Speaker of the Council Adnan Al-Mufti said that the
upcoming United Kurdistan Government must be an
active government and deal with the future
challenges. |
