Erbil,
Kurdistan-Iraq, Feb 7, - Iraqi Kurdistan is set to
make a film about the life of late great Kurdish
leader Mullah Mustafa Barzani directed by Egyptian
director Ali Badrakhan with Arab Syrian actress Mona
Wasef playing the leading role.
Helcut Zahir, presidential advisor in Kurdistan
provincial government/Erbil department, said on
Tuesday that the movie “is a joint production
between Erbil, Cairo and Hollywood.”
“Actress Mona Wasef agreed to play the lead role in
the documentary historic movie,” he added.
Zahir said the film depicts the life of Mullah
Barzani “who led the Kurdish liberation movement for
more than half a century.”
Egyptian Badrakhan, of Kurdish origins, has recently
visited Iraqi Kurdistan to discuss making the movie.
