nationalreview.com Dr. Kamal Said Qadir, a
Kurdish international legal expert,
writer, human rights and
anti-corruption activist who last year was abducted
and subjected to kangaroo justice in Iraqi
Kurdistan, writes to say he has filed charges for
kidnapping and torture with the public prosecutor in
Vienna, Austria, against Masrour Barzani, the son of
Iraqi Kurdistan region President Massoud Barzani.
Masrour, a 1997 graduate of American university runs
Iraqi Kurdistan's intelligence and internal security
service. It will be interesting to see whether
Europe now places real politic above its rhetoric of
justice and human rights.
Dr. Kamal confirmed to eKurd.net portal today, that
the lawsuit has been filed on Dec.19, 2006 against
five high ranking officials of KDP Kurdistan
Democratic Part and Parastin (Kurdistan Security
police):
1- Masrour Barzani,
2- Delshad Barzani
3- Kameran Mufti (deputy of Masrour Barzani)
4- Nawzad Hadi Mawlud ( the governor of Erbil)
5- Dr. Pirot Ahmed
The lawsuit is based on both, international law and
Austrian national laws. |
