Attempts underway to control gas cylinder crises
The general office of fuel in Sulaimaniyah stated
that they will not deal with Iranian gas cylinders
anymore and are not prepared to fill them in their
petrol stations This statement upset people since
most of them own Iranian cylinders.
Ahmed Arif, in charge of private projects for oil in
Sulaimani, said, "Only the Iraqi gas cylinders are
to be used; the other ones may be used in other
parts of Iraq but not in Kurdistan, which means that
whoever posses an Iranian cylinder shall not receive
a coupon for it."
He rejected rumors that the Iranian cylinder takes
more gas, saying, "This is baseless; we are working
according to a system, and the Iraqi cylinder takes
only 12 kilos. Again we warn the people that this is
only for their safety, nothing else."

A panel has been formed by the Health Supervision
Program, Directorate of Health and Veterinary in the

Over the last few days, the panel has quarantined a

"Selling birds in residential areas inside cities is
a non-civilized phenomenon, and imposes a high risk

approach winter season," said a veterinarian.
Furthermore, mobile teams have been formed to search
the countryside to take samples from live birds to
ensure that they are free of the disease, reported
local media.

Baker - Hamilton report marginalized
Talabani said that the recent report by Iraqi Study
group on situation in Iraq is becoming irrelevant.
In a press conference held upon his arrival at the
Sulaimaniyah International Airport, Iraqi federal
government President Jalal Talabani said that the
recent report by the Iraqi Study Group on the
situation in Iraq, known as the Baker-Hamilton
Report, is becoming irrelevant.
"The report that caused a huge repercussion is being
marginalized," Talabani said in the press
conference. "Washington has called upon relevant
sides to come forward with new ideas regarding the
report, so it is unlikely that the recommendations
in the report will take effect," he added.
"The Kurdistan Peshmarga Forces are a systematic
force and have been recognized by the Iraqi central
government to be responsible for the protection of
Kurdistan Region," Talabani said in reply to a
question about the status of the Forces.
