Adnan Mufti, Speaker of Kurdistan Parliament,
presided over parliament's ordinary meeting. His
agenda included the continuation of discussions of
the Kurdistani Parliament Union's legal project;
negotiations on canceling Decision 368 of the
previous regime's presidency council; and
discussions regarding the Reconstruction Ministry's
legal project.
The Parliament Union's legal project was accepted
then read in both Kurdish and Arabic languages.
After votes were tallied, it was approved as an act.
Members of parliament's legal panel, including human
rights and healthcare representatives, read their
reports, asking for the cancellation of Decision 368
passed by the previous regime that makes it legal to
employ children under the age of 18.
The reports called for its demise, saying it was
strongly against the regulations of human rights.
The panel went a step further, asking parliament to
approve a new rule that would make it illegal to
employ anyone less than 18 years of age.
Because the Minister of Reconstruction was in
Baghdad as a member of the Kurdistan Region's
delegation, discussions concerning that project were
adjourned to the next meeting.

$1.5 billion
Therefore, instead of getting $6.8 billion, the

reported.
Therefore, instead of getting $6.8 billion, the
Region gets only $5.2 billion. The source also
stated that the Region's delegation in Baghdad is
trying hard to prevent the budget cut. They have met
with the Ministry of Finance and the Iraqi PM in
order to not only to prevent the cut, but also to
collect $500 million that, so far, has not been
given to the Region in the 2006 budget. The
delegation in Baghdad is waiting to meet Hussein
Shahristani, the Iraqi Minister of Oil, for
discussions on oil investment in Kurdistan.
Although Shiites and Americans want Kurds to

a member of the delegation. "We have asked for a new
