Summer is that special time when the academic
community takes a deep breath to unwind from the
past school year and prepare for the coming one.
Prepare it by spending two weeks during June/July
2007 in Kurdistan to share your knowledge and skills
in general with Kurdish youngsters. MOSY Camp School
offers university or college of higher education
students the opportunity to open the doors and
discover amazing nature and rich culture of
Kurdistan; these are just parts of the fascinating
stories stretching back hundreds and hundreds of
years.
MOSY camp is opened to university or college of
higher education students, ages 18-30 years old. The
participants should be students in following areas;
sport, English language, IT, vocational training,
art, song, music, sociology, economics, media and
political science. This program is packed full
hands-on learning activities and the main purpose is
that participant Kurds living in Diaspora will
exchange their experiences with youngsters from
Kurdistan.
This Camp will work as a unique platform for youth
to share expertise in meeting the social and
interpersonal needs of individuals who comes
together from a wide range of backgrounds and
expectations. Camps traditionally merge recreational
adventure with education in a nurturing community of
peers, role models, and caregivers.
A camp's success in creating positive interpersonal
experiences and the expertise that is developed
along with this success have the potential to
provide a solution to the problems of intolerance
and alienation faced in our schools and communities.
The program is partly designed to empower the women.
Due to the lack of gender-equality in Kurdistan,
MOSY want to encourage female students to join the
program.
Our aim is to facilitate an enjoyable and
worthwhile experience as possible for all who stay
with us. We will provide:
1. Suggestions for an exciting camp program.
2. A safe and secure environment for students.
3. Accommodation costs for the students. The flight
expenses are not included!
4. A mentorship while on location which allows
campers to share their thoughts with MOSY and get
response in the form of sub-projects of different
forms.
Campership funds are available to provide partial
financial assistance to campers who otherwise will
not be able to attend the camp. We recommend the
participants to apply for financial aid as soon as
possible, since campership awards usually are
need-based available and the first-come
first-severed basis.
Deadline for applicants: 30´th of April 2007
