Turkish Doctors Open Hospital in Kurdistan

Erbil, Kurdistan
Region (Iraq), December 7, -- Turkish doctors have
opened a hospital in the Kurdistani (northern Iraqi)
city of Erbil, unique in terms of its equipment and
services on offer.
The SEMA hospital and Laser Eye Centre was
inaugurated on Wednesday with the participation of
local officials and hospital staff. Erbil Governor
Nawzat Hadi was also present at the opening
ceremony.
The hospital will provide eye surgery hitherto
unavailable.
Dr. Ali Colak, chief doctor at the hospital, said
that thanks to the newly available operations
Northern Iraqis would no longer be obliged seek
treatment abroad.
The center is similar to designs in Europe and
America. It is the first such hospital in Iraq.
The hospital was built with approximately $2 million
dollars in investment and occupies 1,500 square
meters.
