Erbil, Kurdistan
Region (Iraq), December 22, -- Iraqi sides failed to
reach a final agreement regarding forming a new
political front in Iraq, a Kurdish source revealed
Friday.
The Kurdistan presidency source told KUNA "meetings
are taking place between leaders of political
parties on establishing a front that joins all
moderate sides that believe in the constitution,
democracy, and the federal state to counter the
front of terrorism, destruction, and sectarian
violence." The source emphasized that serious steps
were taken and that talks will continue until a
final agreement is reached.
He stressed that the Kurdish side is part of the
solution and that it will remain involved in the
political process to serve the people of Iraq and
Kurdistan.
According to officials, Iraqis seek a new front that
unites the Supreme Council for the Islamic
Revolution, the Iraqi Islamic Party (IIP), the
Kurdistan Coalition, and the Islamic Dawa Party.
