Oil And Natural Gas Activities In
Turkey-Kurdistan

BAKU - "National Oil & Natural Gas Company of
Turkey (TPAO) produces oil in the mainly Kurdish
southeastern region as well as natural gas in Thrace
region of Turkey," TPAO Director General Osman Saim
Dinc told A.A on Saturday.
Dinc noted that TPAO produces 70,000 barrels of oil
daily which means 3 million tons of oil annually.
"TPAO is intensively producing oil in Batman and
Adiyaman cities. We are trying to extend the
production towards Diyarbakir and Hatay cities," he
added.
Dinc said regarding activities on natural gas in
Thrace that they are planning to make more than 20
drilling in the
region within this year.
He added that preparations continue to present the
natural gas (which they have produced in Thrace) to
consumption until the beginning of December.

The use of the term "Kurdistan" is vigorously

by the Republic of Turkey, which does not recognize
the existence of a "Turkish Kurdistan".
