Arab Doctors Head for Kurdistan
(Hawlati)
Sulaimaniyah Director General of Health Dr Sherko
Abdullah said that 150 doctors from central and
southern parts of Iraq have come to Sulaimaniyah
province since the fall of the former regime.
Abdullah told Hawlati that the authorities assist
the newcomers by covering their rents, helping them
set up clinical practices and finding them jobs in
public hospitals.
The doctors have been coming to Sulaimaniyah because
of the bad security in the rest of the country.
According to officials, 50,000 people from central
and southern Iraq have fled to the Iraqi Kurdistan
to escape the conflict.

DMK party records first lawsuit against Kurdistan
Government
(The Kurdish Globe)
Due to the confiscation of its budget in November of
2004 The Democratic Movement of Kurdistan filed a
suit against the Kurdistan Regional Government.
The Democratic Movement of Kurdistan (DMK), since
1994, has been given the legal permit by the cabinet
to practice and conduct its political activities in
Kurdistan Region. Due to the confiscation of its
budget in November of 2004 by the Sulaimaniyah
administration, the Movement has now filed a suit
against the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
"Without any reason, they went ahead and cut our
budget," stated the secretary of the DMK, Shkrulla
Hamad Amin. He added that they have kept silent
regarding the matter for so long because his party
was waiting for the two administrations to reunify
first. The KRG was run in tow administrations until
it unified last May.
"After the unification of the two, we decided in
October, to officially raise our legitimate concern
and demand from the authorities to legally reimburse
us for what we are entitled to receive," Amin said.
"This is our right and we want to solve it in a
civilized and democratic way."
