Kurdistan: 1 Million Dinar fish put on
sale in Sulaimaniyah

Kurdistan Region (Iraq), November 19, -- A huge fish
weighing 97 kg was offered on the market of Asahaba
Sabi in Kurdistan region (Iraq) city of Sulaimaniyah
on Sunday for one million Iraqi dinars ($700).
"The market has never witnessed such a gigantic
fish, which is of a rare kind we have not seen
before," the owner of the shop where the fish was
displayed said.
"A fisherman in the area of Darbandikhan netted the
fish and brought it to the market where we offered
it for sale in return for 700 U.S. Dollars," he
added.
Asahaba Sabi is the largest fish market in
Sulaimaniyah and is located in the center of the
city.
The lake of Darbandikhan, located 66 km southwest of
Sulaimaniyah, is one of two main lakes in the
province.
Apart from being a tourist attraction, the fish-rich
lake is also a main resource for power generation
