Aviation General in Kirkuk: Terrorist activities
on the rise
The latest operations in and around Kirkuk have
caused major damage to terrorist groups, and because
of that they have moved their terrorist operations
from outside to inside the city of Kirkuk
Aviation Gen. Anwar Hamadamin of the new Iraqi Army,
Gen. Sherko Shaker of Kirkuk's police department,
and U.S. Army Col. Patrick Stackmall pointed to the
latest developments regarding conditions in Kirkuk
and the results of the Black Tiger operations in the
region, told the reporters in a press conference,
local media reported.
"Circumstances are becoming more complicated, and we
may have to take a different approach. One of the
reasons for the situation in Kirkuk and its suburbs
is due to the fact that we are approaching the
implementation of Article 140 in the Iraqi
constitution, which is related to the normalization
of Kirkuk's situation," Stated Gen. Hamadamin.
The general also said that the latest operations in
and around Kirkuk have caused major damage to
terrorist groups, and because of that they have
moved their terrorist operations from outside to
inside the city of Kirkuk. Also, he added, they have
been attacking from other regions as well, allowing
them to make the towns of Haweja, Rashad, and Arab
territories in the province prime locations for
their activities.

Within the next few days, the

appointed and this is anticipated to be done in the
near future," said Alia Nisaef, parliament member on
the Al Iraqia list.
She continued, saying, "Until then, no agenda has
been set for the committee, although the issue of
Kirkuk and federalism will absolutely be among the
main subjects to be discussed during the meetings."
The 27-member committee was created from all
divisions within the Iraqi parliament to examine
Article 142 in the Iraqi constitution.
Salahaddin University accepts 122 students to
study higher education

students who have been accepted to study higher
education for 2006-07.

The number of the students to study higher education
is 102 master students and 20 doctorate students:
College of Engineering: 20 master students
College of Sciences Education: 5 master students
College of Administration and Economy: 3 doctorate
and 4 master students
College of Agriculture: 7 master students and 1
substitute student
College of Sciences: 1 doctorate, 1 substitute, and
8 master students
College of Physical Education: 4 doctorate and 11
master students
College of Arts: 4 doctorate, 1 substitute, and 19
master students
College of Statistics: 2 doctorate and 7 master
students
College of Language: 3 doctorate and 41 master
students
Greece's Doctors Without Borders to build
children's hospital in Makhmour
The visiting delegation presented a gift from the
Greek people to the Kurdish nation.
Dr. Ziryan Osman, Minister of Health of the
Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), received in the
Divan of the Ministry, representatives of Greece's
Doctors Without Borders Organization. Those
representatives included Dr. Socrates Mitciadis, Dr.
Sulaiman Barzani, and Dr. Philippos Olympitis Kelars,
local media reported last week.
The visiting delegation presented a gift from the
Greek people to the Kurdish nation. They will build
a children's hospital from the donations of the
Greek people, which amounts to 1.200.000 euros.
Dr. Osman thanked the organization and suggested
that the hospital be built in Makhmour, since
inhabitants of the town are most in need of health
services. The delegation agreed and paid a visit to
the location to initiate the project. They promised
to send health experts to Kurdistan to train the
health staff and send others to Greece to learn.
Karim Singari appointed as KRG's representative
for PKK crisis
Turkey has been informed of the new members of the
committee, but is refusing to allow the KRG to have
any representatives serve on the committee.
Kurdistan
Regional Government has appointed Karim Singari, the
State Minister for Interior Affairs, as its
representative on the committee to handle the PKK
issue in Kurdistan, but Turkey has refused to accept
Singari's membership in the committee, Peyamner News
Agency reported last week.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari announced that
the Baghdad government also appointed Shirwan Waaly,
the National Security Minister, to be a
representative on the committee to represent the
central government.
Zebari stated that Turkey has been informed of the
new members of the committee, but is refusing to
allow the KRG to have any representatives serve on
the committee.
