Statement of the Committee to
Protect Kurdistan Journalists about the arrest of
three Kurdish journalists in Iran
Newsdesk, October 31,-- Statement of the
Committee to Protect Kurdistan Journalists about the
arrest of three Kurdish journalists in Iran
For about 16 days before the Iranian authorities
arrested three editors of the newspaper (Rojhelat)
issued in Iran and took them to an unknown
destination without opens the field for their
families to contact their children to date because
as Iran said they have contacts abroad and that's
all leaks from the part of local authorities which
indicates they whom we have with the authorities.
The three journalists are Riza Ali Por, Farhad Amin
por and Saman Soleimani.
(Rojhelat) newspaper is licensed and operates openly
and with administrative body known therefore, these
three journalists enjoy all the legal rights and the
official authorities to secure their rights and to
disclose their whereabouts.
The Committee to Protect Kurdistan Journalists,
according to the press laws misfortune and a press
liaison for the outside world is a human and all
journalists are not a crime punishable by a
journalist.
This means that the State must be assured access to
the press abroad and obtaining the necessary
information from its own sources for the performance
of his journalistic work.
Any action to hamper the work of the journalist is
in violation of the basic laws of journalistic work.
Also on the Iranian State to entrust to journalists
lawyers who defend them and indicate within 72 hours
only legal evidence against them and to be able to
see their children.
Non-disclosure of the arrest of the two journalists
is against the laws of the press and the States must
act according to the laws of freedom of opinion and
the press.
In light of the above, we in the Committee to
protect Kurdistan Journalists call on the Iranian
government to disclose the fate of the three
journalists and lawyers empower them and to allow
their families to interview and released according
to laws and the rights of journalists and press
work.
Also call Amnesty International and the Committee to
protect journalists to intervene with the Iranian
government to release the three journalists and
disclosure on the fate and to secure their rights.
