Sulaimaniyah,
Kurdistan Region (Iraq), October 17 ,-- Iraqi and
Kuwaiti officials plan to secure an agreement of
cooperation in the next few months, allowing Kuwait
to help Iraq develop its oil fields, according to
local media reports.
Kuwait wants to assist Iraq in meeting demands for
oil products, especially auto fuel and kerosene, Al-Watan
reported.
Hani Hussein, executive chairman and vice-chairman
of Kuwait Petroleum Co., said in a statement to Al-Watan
that participation "will be limited to the technical
aspects only and will not exceed more than that
because they did not ask for any other kind of
participation."
The Iraqi Oil Ministry has prepared a plan to build
new oil refineries, including the Koya refinery in
Koysanjak, in semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, at a
production capacity of 70,000 barrels per day. |
