Salahaddin, Kurdistan Region (Iraq), October 4, -- Kurdistan Regional President Massoud Barzani met in Salahaddin with a high-ranking judicial delegation.

President Barzani met in Salahaddin with a high-ranking judicial delegation, including Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Minster of Justice Farooq Jamil, KRG Minster of Region for Judicial Affairs Azad Mala Fanddi, the Head of Kurdistan Cassation Court Salah Mala Yaqoub, and two of his deputies.

In the meeting, talks centered on the final steps of unifying the two Kurdish Ministries of Justice and Judicial Affairs, a process due to be completed beginning in October.

President Barzani stressed the independence of the judicial power and said that law must be above everything in the Kurdistan region. He also reiterated his full support in securing complete social justice in the region.

For their part, the guest delegation pledged to make the protection of the superiority of law top priority in their duties.

The trial of Saddam Hussein and his associates on the Anfal campaign charges was another focus of the meeting, and in this regard President Barzani recommended follow-up and evaluation of the court processions by the relevant authorities in the Kurdistan region.
