Dr. Kamal Mirawdeli:”PKK
leadership failed to follow simple logical reality”
January 24, - Dr. Kamal Mirawdeli (probable a false
name) wrote that Dr. Kamal Sayid Qadir, the Kurdish
intellectual who has been sentenced for 30 years in
prison, for “espionage and plot against the safety
and security of state” has become a historical
phenomenon:” the voice that challenged and overcome
corrupt power”. According to Kamal there is a lot
that can be said and written about this historical
break in Kurdish politics and thinking.
Kurdish Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani has decided
to grant the jailed Kurdish lecturer Dr Kamal Said
Qadir a free pardon , several government aides said
on Saturday.
Dr. Kamal Mirawdeli especially praised the
intellectuals who defended Dr. Kamal Sayid Qadir.
But he especially praised the “glorious and
honourable role” played by Kamal Sayid Qadir’s two
sisters in Germany: Awaz and Galawej. Thanks to them
a campaign started. Dr. Kamal Sayid Qadir's case is
similar to that of Orhan Pamuk’s case. Both trails
faced political pressure, both writers faced
political taboos and both will eventually walk free
and will be hailed as the new Kurdish/Turkish
intellectual "voltairic" heroes. They prove again
that words are even more powerful then governments,
but only when those words are used wisely and in the
right political situation (Not under the rule of
Saddam).
But is not MY intention to talk about this. If you
want to read the full article, you can read it here
The most interesting part of Dr. Kamal’s article for
me was, that this Kurd from South-Kurdistan blames
the PKK leadership for the lack of logical reality.
He compared Öcalans trial with that of Sayid Qadir,
although these cases are totally different. But the
lack of historical awareness is shown in his
comparison of Dr. Qadir’s case, whom was imprisoned,
with that thousand years old case of the Greek
philosopher Socrates, who voluntarily faced his
death, while he could have fled. But it’s clear his
article is only meant for provocation and
exaggeration. |

Not only Dr. Kamal Mirawdeli isn’t all too good in
history, (I heard somebody stating that Apo studied
history, which says nothing) but also mister Öcalan
compared himself with the grandchildren of the Greek
god Zeus, which is a clear form of no respect for
the autonomy of the past. In his book “From the
Sumerian Clerical State towards Democratic
Civilisation”, Öcalan wrote that his punishment is
no different, then with “legendary Prometheus being
nailed on the mountains of Caucasia”.
Also Turkish history isn't without flaws, as stated
by the Turkish intellectual Ismail Besikci. He
wrote:"For example, Turkish universities which
follow the official ideology give up scientific
truth and deny the reality of the Kurdish nation."
But to go back to my point, Dr. Kamal Mirawdeli
wrote the following:”Here I cannot resist the
temptation of comparing this attitude and sound
judgment of Dr Kamal's sisters to that of PKK
leadership after the abduction and conviction of
Abdullah Ocelan. Dr Kamal's sisters have rightly
assessed the fact that because Dr Kamal is captive
and has no free will and right of free expression
then any thing said by him which contradicts his
beliefs or said on his behalf is void and nil and
cannot be projected as truth.
The same principle was right and should have been
applied in the case of Abdullah Ocelan. But PKK
leadership due to their own lack of free will and
the cult of leader worshipping failed to pay any
attention to this simple logical reality. They
continued to rule their party according to
statements made by a leader who was captive,
deprived of his free will, put under various
psychological pressures and probably the effect of
drugs. Most of the times the statements have been
made by his lawyers who have been allowed to go in
and under the continuous rigorous surveillance of
Turkish intelligence who obviously allowed Ocelan's
real or alleged statements to go out only to control
PKK's strategy through controlling the mind of their
leader and through it the engine of the party
leadership. How shameful that PKK leadership failed
to be as intelligent and careful as two proud
Kurdish women”.
So according to Dr. Kamal Mirawdeli the PKK is
following the strategy of the Turkish
army/intelligence now. Is this what they [EU
politician Joost Lagendijk, HAK-PAR leader, Veteran
Kurdish politician Şerafettin Elçi) mean with deep
state? Is the PKK working for the Turkish army
without knowing it? Is this why Öcalan reacts
against the AKP in his statements or?
For those mainstream "historic populists", who talk
about history and historical phenomenon’s; first
read the book "The Pursuit of History" by John Tosh.
After this we can talk further. This book can easily
be handled for those, who are open for new forms of
political and social need, while the dominant
approach in historical scholarship is to value
history for it's own sake. (And not to compare
oneself from the Sumerian civilization till the
present day democracy).
