Rêbendan, the day of proclamation of Kurdistan
Republic in Mahabad is approaching. The Kurdish TV
station ROJ TV is going to have different programs
on this occasion to commemorate this most important
event in Kurdish modern political history.
Sadly now South-Kurdistan is free, (Also known as
Northern Iraq, but I rather use it’s real name) the
60th anniversary of the Kurdistan Republic in
Mahabad isn’t celebrated.
For strange reasons the event was called off.
According to the the website TheKurdistani, it was
cancelled because of Iranian pressure on Kurdistan!
It’s a shame if the KRG 'Kurdistan Regional
Government' listens to Iran about this (if it’s
true) and if it’s not cancelled because of Iran.
Mr.Ali Qazi and Mr.Tahir Kemalizade were among those
people that supposed to travel to Hewlêr to
participate in festivities for commemorating the
60th anniversary of Kurdistan Republic in Mihabad.
Instead of this they will appear on Roj TV. But I
share their grief for this mistake of the Kurdish
government.
The Kurdish satellite station shows their importance
for the Kurdish public in broadcasting several
programs about the Kurdish republic Mahabad. |
Qazi Mohammed salutes the world at the proclamation
of the Kurdish republic. The father of Massoud
Barzani was the general of the Kurdish army in the
republic of Mahabad. He fled while the Iranian
troops rushed in to oppress Kurdistan after one year
of freedom. |

Friday 20th January ROJ BASH KURDISTAN
program 7.30-9.00 hosts Mr.Hassan Mawerani a Kurdish
journalist, he talks about the Kurdistan Republic.
Friday 20th January Pêvjo ( A debate Program)
19:45 - 21:15 hosts Mr. Eli Qazi ( The Son of Qazi
Mihemed), Mr Tahir Kemalizade a Kurdish politician,
and Mr.Ebdulrahman Haci Ehmedi another Kurdish
Politician. They reflect their views about the
different aspect of that
experience.
Veteran Kurdish politician Dr.Mehmoud Osman , the
charismatic progressive Kurdish clergyman Seyd
Ezzedin Husseini and Mr. Zubeyr Aydar send their
messages to commemorate the Republic by phoning to
the show.
Saturday 21 January 19:35-20.10 part one of a
documentary film called " Kurdistan Republic in
Mihabad "will be aired.
Saturday 21 January 20:15 - 23:00 A round
table talk show about the republic. In this program
most of the participants 7 to 8 people belong to
younger generation of Kurds. Renowned Kurdish singer
Necmedin Xullami perform together with a group of
Kurdish musicians. A short documentary will be
screened in this show, which is an interview with
Mihemed Shapesendi ( 86 years old) the worker in
"Kurdistan printing house "during the time of
Republic and before that )
Saturday 21 January 23:15 - 24:10 2nd and
last part of the documentary Kurdistan Republic In
Mihabad. This documentary is produced by some
filmmakers In Eastern Kurdistan and iran
In the news bulletins on Saturday or Sunday there
will be items concerning this bright spot of Kurdish
modern political History. It’s also a sad day
actually, because sadly, the Kurdish republic was
destroyed by the enemies of the Kurdish nation.
Recently Mahabad was on fire again.. unrest spread..
Kurds killed by the Iranian terrorist government.
This day reminds the Kurds again that they still
don’t have their own state, but that it was possible
in the past and will be in the future. The current
status of the Kurds gives more support for the
reason to support a new independent Kurdish state.
