The World International
Telecommunication Union (ITU) Deputy Secretary
General Mr. Roberts Blois received Dr. Dindar Zebari
Kurdistan Regional Government Coordinator to the UN
affairs at ITU headquarter - UN in Geneva. Both
sides discussed the need and better participation
for Territorial planning at both municipal and
regional levels.
KRG Coordinator highlighted the future development
projects should assist regional government (KRG)
towards enhance governance and far-decentralization.
In another words the future international agencies
support to Kurdistan region must be on the basis of
building and strengthening capacities of regional
business development services and micro-finance
providers.
The International Telecommunication Union is unique
among international organizations in that it was
founded on the principle of cooperation between
governments and the private sector. With a
membership encompassing telecommunication
policy-makers and regulators, network operators,
equipment manufacturers, hardware and software
developers, regional standards-making organizations
and financing institutions, ITU’s activities,
policies and strategic direction are determined and
shaped by the industry it serves.
