ERBIL,
Kurdistan-Iraq, Jan 4 (KUNA) -- British Prime
Minister Tony Blair expressed his support on
Wednesday for forming a united national government
in Iraq after the successful elections held last
month.
A source in the bureau of Massoud Barazani,
President of Kurdistan Region and Chairman of the
Kurdistan Democratic Party, told KUNA, that Blair
said during a phone call conversation with Barazani,
also the president of region of Kurdistan, that he
supports him and his country in the efforts aimed at
forming a united national government representing
all Iraqis.
The source added Blair thanked Barazani for his
efforts in the political field in Iraq, meanwhile
praising the Kurdish role during the country's
current critical stage.
Kurdistan has recently witnessed several meetings
among Iraqi parties, including Chairman of Supreme
Council of the Islamic Revolution, Abdul Aziz Al-Hakeem,
and Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, in
addition to a delegation of the Iraqi Accord Front,
where they held discussions on forming the next
Iraqi government.
