33 operations 71 deaths
despite the truce
DIYARBAKIR 19.Sep (DIHA) The one-month truce
declared by KONGRA-GEL on Aug. 20 ends tomorrow.
Despite the truce 20 HPG guerillas and 51 soldiers
and police officers lost their lives as a result of
the military operations.
The truce has been declared after the PM Erdogan
visited predominantly Kurdish city Diyarbakir on
August 20. The government, Army and Police
Department are organizing meetings t evaluate the
process after the truce. While the operations and
clashes were expected to be ceased 20 HPG guerillas,
48 soldiers and 3 police officers lost their lives
in 33 military operations done in the last one
month.
The operations and deaths did not stop
From the date of the declaration of the truce till
now two guerrillas have been arrested 50 officers
have been wounded. 9 forests were set fire one
village was raided in the last 30 days. During the
raids 7 people were injured and 3 armed clashes were
reported.
As for the bill of the conflicts after the
demonstrations, 3 people died and one lost his life
due to an unknown murder. 4 lynch attempts were
experienced in western and eastern part of the
country and hundreds of people were taken into
custody after the conflicts during the
demonstrations.
