An eyewitness has informed the relevant parties of a mass grave near the area that is located around the Taza subdistrict, al-Sina'i quarter and al-Ma'amil area in Kirkuk. Relevant parties and the media arrived at the area and found remains of Kurds in many mass graves that date back to the Baathist regime era and the time of the Anfal campaign. All the victims had Kurdish costumes on and they were shot dead by bullets. The corpses are of women, children, the elderly and young men.

Voter Registration Centers Now Closed
(Al-Taakhi)

The extended period for registration of voters in Anbaar governorate ended yesterday, leading to the closure of all registration centers in Iraq. Fareed Ayar, an Independent Electoral Commission in Iraq (IECI) member, said that voter registration centers were closed at the end of last month except the governorate of Anbar. He said the IECI decided to extend the deadline there for one more week because of the unstable security situation in some parts of that governorate, as well as responding to the desire of the Sunnis Conference in Iraq, which asked the IECI to extend the deadline because of security difficulties.
