On
Tuesday 20.Sep The first airplane arrived from
Frankfurt to autonomous Kurdistan-Iraq. More flights
will follow later.
Charter flights between Kurdistan and Europe will
then take place every Monday until 13th of October
2005. After this date, there will be two charter
flights between Kurdistan and Frankfurt a week.
Hawler-Frankfurt flights will cost 780 euros (around
US $950) for adults, 523 euros for children under
the age of 12, and 120 euros for children under the
age of 2. |

The first flight departing from Frankfurt, with 36
passengers aboard, arrived in Irbil international
airport, north of Iraq, on Tuesday morning, said the
Minister of Transportation in the government of
Iraq's Kurdistan Haidar Sheikh Ali.
Flights now from Frankfurt to Iraq
Ali said that there will be regular weekly trips
between both international airports, indicating that
the number of flights will be raised when necessary.
He also said that such steps seek to link Kurdistan
province with all world's countries, adding that
future airlines will be operated with London,
Stockholm, and Amsterdam through Athens.
Arbil international airport will receive next
Saturday the first Jordanian plane in an
experimental trip, he said.
The first Iraqi airlines plane to depart from Arbil
international airport heading to Amman had arrived
in the Jordanian capital last February.
Sulaimaniyah international airport had opened last
July, receiving the first Iraqi airlines flight from
Amman.
