Mr. Hoshiyar Zebari
received Mr. William Patey, the British ambassador
to Iraq. During the meeting, they discussed the
developments of the political and constitutional
processes in Iraq, the cooperation between Iraq and
the European Union and the issue of signing an
understanding memorandum with the European Union on
the political dialogue.

Mr. Zebari also received Mr. Robert Gerard Bernix,
the new Dutch ambassador to Iraq, who has submitted
a copy of his accreditation papers as an ambassador
for his country in Iraq.
At the beginning of the meeting, the ambassador
expressed the warm consolations of his country to
the Iraqi people and government and the victims of
the disaster of al A'emma Bridge, which he described
as a shock for Europe and the whole world.
The minister thanked the Dutch ambassador for such
consolations and expressed the comfort of the Iraqi
government with regard to the many aids offered by
Holland within the framework of the multinational
forces and the aids for the reconstruction of Iraq,
whether the direct aids or those within the
framework of the EU aids to Iraq, in addition to the
diplomatic and political support to Iraq in the
international gatherings.
The meeting also dealt with discussing the means of
establishing mutual relations between the two
countries and the future promising horizons for
these relations. .
