Karayilan: "If somethings happens to Ocalan, we will
raze Ankara"
NewsDesk, Aug.7
- HPG commander Murat Karayilan said in a statement
that if something happens to the Kurdish national
leader Abdullah Ocalan, the Kurdish youth and the
Kurdish special forces would raze Ankara. The
warning to Turkey from Karayilan followed a
statement from Ocalan where he said that it is
possible that he will be physically annihilated.
"The Kurdish people, the Kurdish youth and the
defending fedayeen [self-sacrificing] forces can
raze Ankara and the AKP, this should not be
forgotten. No one should interpret this statement as
a threat or speculation. I am only telling the
facts. It is like they are playing with an atomic
bomb. Such step would bring dark ages to Turkey for
hundred years."
Karayilan said that if an approach that aimed to
physically annihilate Ocalan was adopted it would
mean a definite end to the peace in Turkey, its
politics and economics.
"The system used [against Ocalan] has passed for
what can be called oppression. Through Ocalan the
Kurdish people is tortured."
Karayilan also made a call to the USA where he said
that they had a responsibility in the problems,
since it was them who handed over Ocalan to Turkey.
"We call upon America to not flee from its
responsibility. They took our leader and handed him
to Turkey, and by doing so they became a part of
this problem. Therefore they are also responsible
for the future developments. Because of this we are
saying that America should take responsibility and
not be a spectator in these event."

at the 'Artists street' by Veli Avci, representative
of the GÖÇ-DER Union in Wan. Avci criticized the
world for being quiet about the event and said the
organisations that had gathered today wanted to draw
the attention of the public opinion in the world
regarding the attacks made on the Kurdish people in
eastern Kurdistan.

and "Long live leader Apo" were shouted..
HPG: "The attack on the province governor was a
warning"
Turkey-Kurdistan,
Aug. 6 HPG (People's Defence Forces) Commandership
Headquarters stated that the attack on August 5
against the convoy of the province governor in
Bingöl was only a warning.
"The action against the province governor of Bingöl
and members of AKP was a warning. Against AKP
because of its continuation of the politics that is
denying rights, because of the operations with the
aim of annihilating the guerrilla, and because it is
implementing oppressive politics against the
leadership [Ocalan]. It was a deliberate decision to
only strike against the military vehicle and not the
vehicle that the AKP members traveled in."
The HPG Headquarters said in the statement that they
could have attacked the vehicle with the governor
and the AKP members, if they had wished to do so.
"But once again, we give them a chance to take
sensible steps forward. Those who do not put forward
politics with the aim for a dialogue and a political
solution will be targeted in the future. We will
continue with the guerrilla struggle against the
politics of AKP and the Turkish government as long
as they continue with the current politics and
oppression of the people."
In the end of the statement HPG called the AKP
government to take its responsibility towards the
Kurdish people.
