ISTANBUL (DIHA) - Göç-Der, Mothers of Peace
Initiative and YAKAY-DER wanted the government to
respond positively to the ceasefire decision by
KONGRA-GEL, and gave the message "We support and
want to take part in every kind of study to
enlighten the dark period, to bring social peace and
not to cause our children not to die any more.
In the explanation, it was stated there has been a
low-density war in Turkey for about 20 years, and
the people in the region experienced unusual
conditions during this conflict period.
It was declared Also there have emerged some illegal
organizations such as JİTEM, special operational
teams, Susurluk and Yuksekova gangs. In the
explanation, it was said:
"In the region two thousand murders were committed,
Kurdish businessmen and politicians were executed
with no apparent reason, and the selected deputies
were arrested as they swore fellowship pledge in
Kurdish. Nearly 4 thousand Kurdish villages were
emptied by force, and during this process the
terrain were laid mines, and the accesses to the
villages were prohibited. The demands of the people
in the region have been always ignored and all the
demands have been labeled with terrorism. The people
have been treated as potential criminals. While
these pressure on the Kurds is going on, the
pressure on the Kurds migrated to the metropolis is
being enforced. The Kurds are seen as second-class
citizens. And most important the Kurdish reality has
been always denied."
'We want to take part in every kind of study for
the solution of the problem'
The statements by the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip
Erdogan were welcomed positively. The explanation
continued: "We; as mothers whose children, husbands
and brothers were murdered; as villagers who lost
their homes, lands and villages; and as victims of
the war; have seen, witnessed and experienced the
dark face of it. We don't want anybody else to live
the same grieves."
Reaction to CHP
The statements by CHP president Deniz Baykal on the
Kurdish problem were also condemned. In the
explanation, it was said CHP seems to have forgotten
and doesn't approach the Kurdish problem sincerely
