Talabani, said the president will intensify his
efforts to reach a compatible solution to the
unresolved issues in the constitution. Talabani will
try to satisfy the different bodies of drafting the
constitution, especially those outside of
parliament, and he will try his best to reach the
best form of forging the constitution. The president

Islamic Party Denounces Constitution Process
(Al-Mutamar)
The Iraqi Islamic Party denounced the process of
presenting the draft of the constitution to the
National Assembly, saying the party has its own
stance on the constitution and that it should be
done with consensus. They said the drafting of the
constitution was presented in the absence of
consensus about its content, as there are still some
issues not agreed upon. The Islamic Party denounced
this move, considering it a violation of the rules
of compatibility under which it accepted to take
part in the process of drafting the constitution.
(Al-Mutamar is
issued daily by the Iraqi National Congress.)
