Parliament to Meet
Today (Al-Taakhi)
Hachim al-Hasani, head of parliament, said the body
will hold a meeting today at 6 pm in the convention
center, without giving details about the issues they
will discuss. The parliament did not hold a meeting
on Sunday although most members showed up for the
gathering. Mahmood Othman, a constitutional
committee member, said they were supposed to meet on
Sunday to discuss the draft of the constitution, but
the meeting was postponed.

Falluja to Take Part in Constitution Referendum
(Al-Sabah al-Jadeed)
After boycotting the previous elections, Falluja is
preparing to participate in the referendum on the
constitution. Falluja's clerics council advised the
Imams of the mosques and the people not to miss this
historical chance and to take part in it through the
four centers opened there. Community leaders and
clerics organized lectures to educate the people
about the importance of their participation and that
the constitution is for the interests of all Iraqis,
which will decide their identities.

Religious Leaders of Sadr Movement Freed
(Al-Mada)
The central criminal court freed Mustafa al-Yaqoobi
and Riad al-Noori, top religious leaders of the Sadr
movement, after finding them innocent. Lawmaker
Fattah al-Sheikh said the delay in freeing them was
not due to legal reasons but due to political
pressures against the Sadrist current leaders to
oblige them to change their views about the American
forces. The last meeting between Prime Minister
Ibrahim al-Ja'afari with Muqtada al-Sadr had nothing
to do with the issue of freeing them but they
discussed the political and service issues in
general.
