Dahuk – Health
sources in Dahuk city confirmed that the health
authorities in the city have started to take
precautionary measures after recording tens of cases
of cholera virus in Iran.
The control department in Dahuk health directorate
has launched a broad campaign of banning the entry
of ready-made food, products and beverages from Iran
to avoid any infection with this serious disease.
Health official sources said that there are
wide-scale preparations to avoid the arrival of this
disease to Kurdistan city and to take strict
measures against any foodstuffs coming from Iran to
verify their contamination with unhealthy
substances.
This would threaten the future of tourism in
Kurdistan, which has recently flourished due to the
travel of several families to the north of the
country or the purpose of going summer resorts and
entertainment.
This came especially after the life conditions in
the majority of Iraqi cities have become very hard,
due to the lack of the simplest types of services
and the electricity current cuts for long hours,
which reach 22 hours a day, in addition to water
cuts in most districts in Baghdad and provinces for
long periods.
This encouraged the majority of families to
participate in recreational trips to the north of
the country to alleviate the state of suffering from
their living and environmental conditions.
