Al Khaz'ali, Karbala governor, has disclosed that
the officials in Karbala and Najaf would hold a
broad conference on the federation, before the
plebiscite on the constitution. He pointed out that
the postponement of this conference until after
announcing the constitution is for providing with an
official and legitimate cover for establishing the
federation system in the center and south of Iraq.
Al Najaf and Karbala governors have discussed the
location for holding a mutual conference that would
include a number of Iraqi central and southern
cities, after the announcement of the constitution
draft to discuss a strategy for establishing the
federation in Iraqi central and southern provinces,
in case they are approved in these regions.
Meanwhile, Al Najaf province has officially received
the security file from the American forces in a
military parade in the center of the city, in which
the Iraqi police and National Guard have
participated. The commander of the US forces has
handed As'ad Abu Kalal, Najaf province, the security
file, in the presence of a large audience of
citizens. Accordingly, the multinational forces have
been converted to logistic support forces.
