voted on Monday to extend a deadline for negotiators
to present a draft constitution by one week to Aug.
22.
With just 20 minutes left before the expiry of a

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A deadline for reaching
agreement on a new Iraqi constitution will come and
go without a deal.
Iraq's parliament speaker - Hashim al-Hassani - says
officials haven't been able to force a deal on the
constitution. He says they reached agreements on
many topics, but couldn't reach some "that please
everyone." Officials had said earlier that the
sticking points were women's rights and Kurdish
self-determination.
Parliament members have voted unanimously for an
extra week to work on the draft constitution.
