Explosion at a
fertilizer factory in Mersin claimed by TAK

Turkey-Kurdistan,
July 14 - The explosion at a fertilizer factory in
Mersin owned by Tekfen Holding on July 12 was
claimed by the militant Kurdish organisation TAK
(Kurdistan's Freedom Falcons).
The ammonium gas that leaked out due to the
explosion poisoned 60 people, among them three
police officers. A TAK official phoned the Kurdish
news agency MHA and stated that TAK had carried out
the attack on the factory.
A unit from TAK had placed a bomb on a pipe that
transported ammonium within the factory complex.
This is the second attack within a week carried out
by TAK in Turkey.
