Turkey-Adana (DIHA) - Adana Governor M.Cahit
Kıraç, highlighting to the count of 5000 street
children in Adana, declared that they would have a
first-aid station and 2 mobile rehabilitation
centers built in the city to make contribution in
socializing street children.
Speaking a press along with Chief Executive of the
Street Children's Association Prof. Dr. Fazilet
Aksu, Governor M.Cahit Çolak presented striking
statistics on street children. Intensive problems
are lived in the cities to which great crowds of
immigrants move, said Governor Çolak, and "one of
the most significant reasons for why street children
are too much in number is education".
First-aid station and rehabilitation centers
To rehabilitate street children and socialize them,
a first-aid station and 2 mobile rehabilitation
centers have started to be established, said Kıraç.
"Our province has been living serious problems in
the field of education. In Istanbul, we discussed a
lot on the issue that it is a matter of quite
importance to socialize street children. In the same
scope, we are trying to ground our works on an
obvious structure. For our children, who are vitally
important in terms of the society's future, we are
planning to provide health, social and psychological
courses for these children of ours" after having a
first-aid station and 2 rehabilitation centers"
The project of € 330,000 is going on
Prof. Dr. Fazilet Aksu, Chief Executive of the Adana
Street Children's Association, also underlined that
the question of street children is the problem of
the whole society, pointing out they achieved great
success in the "From Street to Future'' project of €
330,000.
Stating the 'Rehabilitation with Sports Project' is
also being carried out with great success; Prof.
Aksu thanked the governor for his contributions to
the project and attached an association rosette to
collar of Kıraç. Both Kıraç and Aksu made some
examination in the rehabilitation center built in
Akkapı Mahallesi, Seyhan.
