Defense Minister: Iraq Needs Iran's Support (Al-Ittihad) 
The Defense Minister said yesterday on his visit to Iran that Iraq bears no hostility to any of its neighboring states and wants stability and security in the region. He added that Iraq needed Tehran's support and cooperation to achieve this goal. The two countries will sign a memorandum of understanding to open new scopes of collaboration between them. The Iranian defense minister said the people of the region look hopefully to Iraq to live peacefully with its neighbours.

Constitution Committee Meets Sunnis, Discuss Disagreements
(Baghdad)
Humam Hamoudi, head of the committee to draft the constitution, said rapid and intensive meetings are underway with Sunni Arabs regarding possible disagreements. The meetings are meant to prevent a delay in the drafting of the constitution. He added the draft will be done with by August 1, as was decided earlier. He said they have agreed on many issues but there are still some contentious points, like federalism and the authority granted to the region's rulers.

Visitors From Syria Tested for AIDS

(Al-Sabah) The Health Ministry has taken preventive measures on the Syrian border to control the entry of Syrians and other Arabs infected with AIDS after the Syrian Health Ministry revealed 341 new cases. The Health Ministry, in collaboration with the Interior Ministry, has taken steps to prevent the entry of any infected visitors, like checking passports and making sure they are free from communicable diseases.
