A MECHANIC told
yesterday how he tried to stop the fleeing
Shepherd’s Bush bomber.
Nasih Rizgar, 35, stepped in front of the suspect as
he ran past the garage where he works — not knowing
he had just failed in a mission to kill.
Rizgar, who is originally from Kurdistan, said: “I
don’t know why I put out my hand to stop him,
perhaps because you do not have too many people
running past here.
“The man was sweating and looked agitated. He was
running fast from something.” Rizgar said he was of
West Indian origin, 6ft and powerfully built.
Meanwhile, have-a-go hero Ralph James played down
his bid to catch the Oval bomber.
Flower-seller Ralph, 45, chased the man after he
emerged from the station.
Yesterday Ralph, of Kennington, South London, said:
“I am not a hero. What I did was nothing. To be
honest, I just want to get on with life.”
