Turkish police beats a 67 years old man in
police station

AGRI (DIHA) - 67-year old Yunus Demir, living in
Bezirhane village, Doğubayazit, Agri, claimed that
he was beaten very badly last night in Bezirhane
Gendarmerie-(police) Station by station commander
and 4 other people.
Yunus Demir stated that he was called to Bezirhane
Gendarmerie Station because of land problem between
Bezirhane and Karaşeyh villages and claimed that he
was beaten by Station commander called Ismail and
Karaşeyh villagers. |

Demir told what he experienced:
"I was called to police station because of land
problem. I went and the station commander Ismail, I
do not know his surname, said: 'You seized other
people's land'. I stated that I did not do such a
thing and the official procedures are obvious. The
commander fisted on my left eye and said 'Kick that
mother f...'
Then the Karaşeyh villagers I have problem with Zeki
Kaya, Mustafa Kaya, Abdullah Kaya and M. Emin Kaya
started to beat me. I was bleeding on the floor,
people in my village came to help me".
I will file a crime notification
Demir stated that he will file a crime
notification against commander and villager who beat
him and he said:
"I went to hospital. After I have been treated I
wanted a report. The soldiers told me that they will
send the report to prosecutorship. I insisted but
they did not give. I am 67 and I have been insulted
this much for the first time. I was cursed and
beated before my wife. I will apply to necessary
institutions."
Bezirhane Gendarmerie Station authorities claimed
that this incident has never happened.
It is stated that the land between two villages is
title deeded on Yunus Demir but Karaseyh villagers
claim that this land is theirs and the title deeds
are invalid.
