KURDISTAN (Turkey), June 24 (DozaMe.org) – Head
of the Kurdistan Democratic Confederation (Koma
Komalen Kurdistan - KKK) strongly warned the AKP
(Islamist Justice and Development Part) and the
Turkish army over the massacre of Kurdish civilians
in Wan (Van) in northern Kurdistan (southeastern
Turkey).
KKK called on Kurdish people and asked them to
spread the uprising, which started in Wan to all
parts of Kurdistan and make it continual. KKK also
called on all the democratic circles not to stay
silent against massacres such as this.
The head of the Kurdistan Democratic Confederation
released a message, which condemns the massacre in
Van and warns the AKP and the Turkish army. In the
message they said, “Despite all our efforts and
calls to solve the Kurdish issue by democratic and
peaceful means the government of AKP’s reply is to
perpetrate a massacre against our people in Wan” and
“Despite all the attacks, we salute our people for
their popular uprising in Wan which lasted for two
days”
In the message, the isolation of Kurdistan people’s
leader Abdullah Ocalan has been pointed as well,
“After introduction of New Turkish Penal Code (TCK),
the isolation of our leader deepened and become
legal. The isolation of our leader means nothing but
to suffocate and eliminate the Freedom movement”
In the statement, it was pointed out that with these
steps the AKP have started a new concept in
Kurdistan, which is “threat and assault”, and with
the new penal code, (which came into force on 1 June
banning Ocalan’s lawyers from seeing their client)
aims to strengthen and make this a permanent policy
of the government. It was underlined that while the
period of Ocalan’s re-trial is on the agenda these
kinds of incidents are means of “attacking against
the sacred of the right to legal defence”.
The statement continued by saying, “AKP and the
Turkish government don’t have any other solution and
the statements made by them about human rights,
democracy and freedom are all to deceive foreign
public opinion and our people. It is very clear with
their massacre in Wan that their only solution is to
carry on with their denials and attempted
eradication of our people. It is a well known fact
by world public opinion and our people that leader
APO’s progression of a one sided cease-fire and to
solve the problems by democratic means continued for
the last seven years despite all the difficulties.”
‘AKP government is responsible for the dirty
practices’
The answer has been given to this as “Deepening the
isolation of Ocalan, widening the assaults against
the Kurdish people and military operations against
Guerrilla forces which are engaged in legitimate
self defence” A short while ago in Adana, and now in
Wan they have attacked the Kurdish people whom were
conducting their humane duty to burry two
guerrillas. They killed a nineteen-year-old youth
and injured 11 Kurdish patriots. These are all
showing the Turkish government and the AKP’s dirty
and dangerous ambitions against the Kurdish people”
This is intended to “break the resistance of the
Kurdish People who are seeking their rights” but
pointed out that this will not work “contrary, our
people’s answer will be increasing the popular
uprising”
The statement carried by saying “Turkish military
forces are playing with our guerrilla’s dead bodies”
and “The party that are calling themselves Islamist
the AKP is disregarding Islam by staying silent
about the horrific acts against the guerrillas, such
as mutilating the guerrillas after killing them
cutting off ears and noses and cutting their bodies
into pieces. The AKP is directly responsible these
act of wildness”
Call to Kurdish people and Democratic circles
In the statement, the call from the intellectuals
was also pointed out by saying, “After 1st of June
2005 a new, process has been started. Calls from
some communities of intellectuals to both parties
were replied to by the government to threaten them
and insist on war.”
Whole communities in society should join against the
approach of the Turkish government and take up the
cause of Ocalan and work for his freedom this is
“the only line can be taken and it is the
responsibility for the people whom call themselves
patriotic, democratic and intellectual”
Final warning were given to the AKP and the Turkish
army: “Who are more then ever deepening the problem
and with this the AKP is becoming more violent and
irritable acting without consideration of morals of
war or war legalities the Turkish army will
suffocate by the blood they are spilling in
Kurdistan”
A spokesperson of the Kurdistan Democratic
Confederation (KKK) in the statement called on the
Kurdish people and democratic circles and said, “We
call all our people to understand our first martyred
comrade Vahdettin Inanc in the new process and claim
him as your own. We call on all our people to widen
this uprising, which started in Wan to all four
parts of Kurdistan. We call all our Kurdish
youngsters to create their own free future by coming
to the mountains. We call first on, Turks, Arabs and
Persian people and secondly the whole world’s
intellectuals and democrats to condemn this massacre
in the name of humanity and wellbeing.”
Coordination of PAJK also sent a statement, they
said, “On behalf of the Van people we salute the
Kurdish people” and “Despite, all of the horrific
act by the Turkish army and violence against our
people we salute Kurdish people whom claimed their
martyred guerrillas. It has been proven that no
force, no violence in the world would stop the
determination of our people and our people have
proved this once again. We are proud to be militants
for freedom of people like those in Van. Once more,
we gained power from our people. We will complete
the mission of freedom for Kurdish people with the
power that we’ve gained from our people and we will
not hesitate to pay the price for it”
