Call from KONGRE-GEL chairman Aydar to
Syrian government

KONGRA-GEL chairman Aydar condemned the attack
against democratical demonstration of people after
Kurdish religious functionary Sêx Meesuq el-Xeznewi
is kidnapped and killed and wanted Syrian government
to end repressive politics against Kurds. Aydar
said: "Syrian government is increasing the intensity
of repressive politics against Kurds" and added that
if Syria does not take steps for the solution of
Kurd problem its impossible situation will deepen."
Aydar stated that the attack just before the
congress of Baas Party, ruling Syria for 40 years,
is thought-provoking and some decisions about Kurd
problems should be taken in the congress. Aydar
stated that a neutral commission should be
established to research Kurdish religious
functionary Xeznevi and he said:
"We see the reaction of people against Xeznewi to be
tortured and killed. People were attacked in Qamişlo
while they were reacting peacefully and
democratically. Attack of state forces, soldiers,
polices and Arabic gangs to the people cannot be
accepted. Gangs sabotaged and plunderd business
places. People were wounded and dead. This shows
that Syrian government is going in an impossible
situation Kurd problem. We condemn Syrian government
for the attack."
Aydar stated that they are expecting a decision of
dialog with Kurds and giving their democratical
rights and called Syrian government to establish a
dialogue with Kurds.
Aydar stated that Syrian government should think
about solution of Kurd problem and dialogue with
Kurds and he said: "Kurds are Syrian citizens. They
want to live freely. They demand their democratic
rights. These must be considered in Baas congress.
The main problem of Syria is Kurd problem. Inner
peace is related with it. We call Syrian government
to take steps for the solution of Kurd problem".
