Protested the attempt of Turkey to close
down the Roj TV

ISTANBUL (DIHA) -
135 civil society organizations and artists had
declared the common statement and protested the
attempt of Turkey to close down the Roj TV and
stated that their support to Roj TV will increase.
The artisans and several civil society organizations
which includes Ferhat Tunç, Nilüfer Akbal, Yusuf
Çetin, Murat Batgi, Serap Sönmez,Ada culture and art
center, Akdeniz center of art and culture,Bingöl
center of art and culture, associations of human
rights had made common statement and protested the
claim of closing down of the Roj TV.
'Our works of art wanted to be burnt'
Batgi who stated that they see the Roj TV as an
important instrument for developing the kurdish
language and culture said that the assault on Roj TV
is directed to the Kurdish culture and language.
Batgi stated that just as the regime of 12 September
had lighted the books, albums, films and plays of
the artisans the current regime also pressed on the
artisans to light their work of arts. Batgi who
stated that the state should remove unfairness to
the Kurdish culture and language stated that legal
and actual obstacles in front of the Kurdish
language culture, and literature should be removed.
The attempt to annihilate Kurdish language and
culture manifested itself in the assault to close
down the Roj TV. He said that all the attempts to
close down the Roj TV be ended and we wanted all the
cultures which had been seen as non-existent to live
in brotherhood and peace.
