The
president of the Kurdistan-Iraq Massoud Barzani
quoted yesterday that in 2007 the Kurdish
administration of Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) would
acquire the control of the oil rich Kurdish city of
Kirkuk and the city will join Kurdistan.
Barzani noted that December 15 elections were vital
for stability in Iraq.
Barzani's speech regarding Kirkuk caused a storm in
Turkey. Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül has voiced
reactions to the words of Barzani, saying that
Barzani was not entitled to make decisions about
Kirkuk. |
