The Turkish justice
minister accused a Danish Kurdish television station
of receiving funds from the Kurdistan Workers'
Party, which is on the EU's list of terror
organisations
A local Kurdish TV station is in the searchlight of
Copenhagen Police for receiving funds from the
Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is on the EU's
list of terror organisations.
ROJ TV, which broadcasts news, entertainment, and
movies for Kurds in Denmark
from the centre of Copenhagen, stated it had nothing
to do with PKK, reported Denmark's public radio
station DR on Sunday.
The Turkish minister of justice directed criticism
at Denmark for not having forbidden the station.
Turkey has had success in the past with getting a
number of Kurdish media closed in other European
countries.
Michael Jørgensen, a lawyer for the Copenhagen
Police, confirmed that the Danish Security
Intelligence Service had asked the force to
investigate the case two weeks ago.
