Kurdistan Officials
Will Not Join Any Electoral List
(Al-Sabah al-Jadeed)
Abdul Khalik Zankana, a lawmaker and a prominent
figure on the Kurdistan Alliance list, said the
president and the ministers of the Iraq Kurdistan
region will not campaign for any electoral list. The
Kurdistan Alliance list will participate in the
elections in all provinces except for Anbar, Najaf,
Karbala, Samawa, Nasiriya and Ammara. He refused to
reveal the names of candidates for security reasons.

Foreign Ministry Denies Postponing Negotiations
with Kuwait
(Al-Mutamar)
The ministry of foreign affairs denied reports that
it delayed negotiations with Kuwaiti regarding
borders between the two states. The ministerial
council approved sending a delegation headed by the
deputy foreign minister and representatives from the
ministries of interior, water resources and oil to
deal with the Kuwaiti borders.

Mass Grave Found
(Tareek al-Shaab)
Informed sources reported that mass graves were
discovered in a house in Tal Afar inhabited by
terrorists. The graves contained the corpses of 56
beheaded and charred bodies. Residents of the area
said the house was occupied by terrorists a week
before the last clashes between insurgents and
security forces. Iraqi forces and terrorists clashed
in August after residents asked the government to
protect them from insurgents who had turned the city
into a terrorist centre.

Medicine for Chronic Diseases Distributed
(Al-Iraq al-Yoom)
An official source said the ministerial council
approved supplying medicine for people suffering
from chronic diseases. The ministries of finance and
health had suggested that the medicine be supplied.
Separately, the health ministry and the ministry of
interior began an initiative to halt the sale of
medicine on the streets. Most of the medicine enters
Iraq illegally.
