Iraq, Russia to examine renewal of Russian oil contracts
The Iraqi authorities plan to set up a joint Iraqi-Russian commission to resolve issues surrounding renewal of Russian oil contracts in Iraq, Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari said at a press conference in Moscow on Monday.

Zebari affirmed that the Iraqi government is responsible for contracts concluded during Saddam Hussein's rule, adding that Iraq wants to avoid politicization by solving these issues through technical means.

Iraq advocates creating a technical commission, either parliamentary or governmental, within the framework of which all these issues may be resolved, he said.
